Cookie Policy

Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Beersoft Solutions Inc. (operating as “BeerSoft”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at https://beersoft.ca. It describes what cookies are, which cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control your cookie preferences.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy (https://beersoft.ca/privacy-policy), which provides full details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to provide reporting information, and to assist with personalization.

Cookies set by the website operator are called “first-party cookies.” Cookies set by parties other than the website operator are called “third-party cookies.” Third-party cookies enable features or functionality provided by external services (such as analytics and advertising) to be delivered on or through the website.

Cookies can be “persistent” (they remain on your device until they expire or you delete them) or “session” cookies (they are deleted automatically when you close your browser).

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:
  • Essential functionality: to ensure the website operates correctly, to maintain your session, and to remember your cookie consent preference
  • Analytics: to understand how visitors interact with our website, which pages are most visited, and how we can improve the user experience
  • Advertising: to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook) platforms and to enable retargeting
We do not use cookies to identify you personally unless you have separately provided your information through a form on our website. Analytics and advertising cookies collect data in a pseudonymized form using randomly generated identifiers.

Cookies We Use

The following tables list all cookies used on our website, organized by category.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. They are always active and do not require your consent.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies are only activated when you click “Accept All.” They help us understand how visitors use our website.
Cookie Provider Purpose Type Duration
_ga Google (3rd party) Distinguishes unique users for Google Analytics (GA4). Generates a random client ID to track sessions and page views. Persistent 2 years
_ga_* Google (3rd party) Maintains session state and tracks session-level interactions for GA4. The suffix corresponds to our GA4 property ID. Persistent 2 years
Our Google Analytics (GA4) property is configured with a 14-month data retention period. After 14 months, user-level and event-level data is automatically deleted by Google. Aggregated, non-identifiable reports are retained indefinitely.

Google may process this data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Google’s privacy policy governs how it processes analytics data: privacy.google.com.

Advertising Cookies

These cookies are only activated when you click “Accept All.” They are used to measure advertising effectiveness and enable retargeting on Meta platforms.
Cookie Provider Purpose Type Duration
_fbp Meta (3rd party) Identifies your browser for ad delivery and measurement on Meta platforms. Used to attribute website visits to Facebook ad campaigns. Persistent 90 days
fr Meta (3rd party) Delivers, measures, and improves the relevance of advertisements shown on Meta platforms. Enables retargeting. Persistent 90 days
Meta retains Pixel conversion event data for a maximum of 24 months. We do not independently store Meta Pixel data on our own servers.

Meta may process this data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Meta’s data policy governs how it processes advertising data: www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage the deployment of analytics and advertising scripts on our website. GTM is a tag management system — it does not set cookies itself and does not collect personal information independently.

GTM is configured with Google Consent Mode v2, which ensures it respects your cookie consent preference. When you have not consented to non-essential cookies (either by default or by clicking “Necessary Only”), GTM prevents analytics and advertising tags from firing. No tracking data is collected and no third-party cookies are set.

Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, our website may use the following related technologies:
  • Tracking pixels (web beacons): small, invisible images embedded in pages that record whether a page has been viewed. The Meta Pixel uses this technology to measure ad conversions.
  • Local storage: your browser’s local storage may be used by scripts on our website to store small amounts of data that persist between sessions. Local storage is subject to the same consent rules as cookies.
We do not use browser fingerprinting, device fingerprinting, or any tracking technique beyond cookies, pixels, and local storage as described in this policy.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal requesting that websites not track browsing activity. There is no universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals.

Our website does not respond to DNT signals. However, our consent-before-load architecture provides stronger protection: non-essential tracking is blocked entirely by default, and only activates with your explicit opt-in. This is more protective than DNT, which relies on voluntary compliance.

Children’s Privacy

Our website is directed at business professionals in the brewery and beverage industry and is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through cookies or any other means.

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in technology, or changes in applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.

If we introduce new categories of cookies or materially change how existing cookies are used, we will reset the consent banner so that all visitors are prompted to make a new choice.
