Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Beersoft Solutions Inc. (operating as “BeerSoft”) is committed to ensuring that our website at https://beersoft.ca is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information and services online, and we are actively working to improve the usability and accessibility of our digital presence.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are dedicated to meeting or exceeding applicable standards, and we continuously review our website to identify and remove barriers to access.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines provide a widely accepted framework for making web content more accessible to people with a broad range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard referenced by the Accessible Canada Act (ACA), the Government of Canada’s Standard on Web Accessibility, and most provincial accessibility legislation across Canada.

Measures We Have Taken

To support accessibility on our website, we have implemented the following measures:
A link from an external website pointing to your site. Backlinks signal authority and trust to search engines. For breweries, backlinks from local media, beer blogs, tourism sites, and event listings strengthen search rankings.
  • Semantic HTML structure: we use proper heading hierarchy (H1 through H6), landmark regions, and semantic elements to ensure that assistive technologies such as screen readers can accurately interpret page structure and content
  • Descriptive alternative text: images on our website include meaningful alt text that describes the content or function of each image, allowing users who cannot see images to understand them
  • Keyboard navigation: interactive elements including links, buttons, and form fields are designed to be operable using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse
  • Colour contrast: we aim to maintain sufficient colour contrast ratios between text and background elements to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Readable typography: we use legible fonts at appropriate sizes and provide sufficient line spacing to support readability across devices
  • Responsive design: our website is designed to function across a range of screen sizes and devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers, without loss of content or functionality
  • Form accessibility: form fields include visible labels and, where applicable, instructions to help users understand what information is required and how to complete each field
  • Link clarity: link text is descriptive and meaningful in context, so users can understand the purpose of each link without relying on surrounding content
  • Cookie consent accessibility: our cookie consent banner is designed to be navigable using keyboard controls and readable by screen readers

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we acknowledge that our website may contain areas that are not yet fully accessible. Based on our current assessment, the following limitations may exist:
  • Third-party content: some content provided by third-party services (such as embedded analytics scripts or external platform widgets) may not fully conform to accessibility standards. We do not have direct control over the accessibility of third-party content, but we select service providers that demonstrate a commitment to accessibility where possible
  • PDF documents: some downloadable documents may not be fully optimized for screen readers. We are working to ensure that all new documents are created with accessibility in mind, including proper tagging, reading order, and alternative text
  • Dynamic content: certain interactive elements or animations may not be fully accessible to all assistive technologies. We are actively identifying and remediating these issues
We treat accessibility as an ongoing process, not a one-time project. As we identify specific barriers, we prioritize and address them.

Compatibility

Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and environments:
  • Screen readers: including NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android)
  • Browser zoom: content remains functional and readable when zoomed up to 200% in all major browsers
  • Keyboard-only navigation: all primary content and interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse
  • High-contrast modes: content adapts to system-level high-contrast settings where supported by the browser
Our website is built on Webflow and is optimized for the current versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any barriers or have difficulty accessing any content, please let us know so we can address the issue.
You can reach us by:
  • Email: office@beersoft.ca
  • Mail: 50 Crowther Ln Suite #140, Fredericton, NB E3C 0J1, Canada
When reporting an accessibility issue, it is helpful (but not required) to include the following information:
  • A description of the problem you encountered
  • The page URL where the issue occurred
  • The browser and assistive technology you were using (if applicable)
  • Any steps that can help us reproduce the issue
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to provide a substantive response, including a timeline for resolution, within 15 business days.

If you need information from our website in an alternative format (such as large print, audio, or a screen-reader-compatible document), please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

Assessment and Review

We assess the accessibility of our website through a combination of:
  • Automated testing: using tools such as axe, WAVE, and Lighthouse to identify common accessibility issues across all pages
  • Manual testing: periodic manual reviews including keyboard-only navigation testing, screen reader testing, and colour contrast verification
  • User feedback: incorporating reports and suggestions received through our feedback channel described in Section 6
We review the accessibility of our website at least annually, and after any significant redesign or content update. Results of these reviews inform our ongoing remediation priorities.

Canadian Regulatory Context

The following Canadian legislation and standards inform our accessibility practices:
  • Accessible Canada Act (ACA, 2019): federal legislation that aims to create a barrier-free Canada by 2040. While the ACA primarily applies to federally regulated entities, it establishes WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the benchmark for web accessibility across Canada and signals the direction of future regulation for all organizations
  • Government of Canada Standard on Web Accessibility: requires WCAG 2.0 Level AA conformance for federal government web content. Though not directly applicable to private-sector websites, it serves as a widely referenced standard
  • Provincial accessibility legislation: several provinces have enacted or are developing web accessibility requirements. Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requires WCAG 2.0 Level AA for organizations with 50 or more employees. New Brunswick, where BeerSoft is incorporated, does not currently have web-specific accessibility legislation, but we proactively adopt accessibility best practices in anticipation of evolving requirements
  • Canadian Human Rights Act: prohibits discrimination based on disability. An inaccessible website could, in certain circumstances, constitute a barrier to equal access to services
By aiming for WCAG 2.1 Level AA, we position BeerSoft to meet or exceed current and anticipated Canadian accessibility requirements.

Third-Party Services

Our website uses the following third-party services. We have reviewed their accessibility commitments but cannot guarantee full conformance of their components:
  • Webflow (hosting and CMS): Webflow provides semantic HTML output and responsive design capabilities. Webflow-generated code generally supports accessibility, though custom design choices may require manual accessibility review
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: these services operate in the background and do not present visible user interface elements. They do not affect the accessibility of page content
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel: operates as a background tracking pixel with no visible interface. Does not affect content accessibility
  • Cookie consent banner: our custom consent banner is designed with keyboard navigation, focus management, and ARIA attributes to support assistive technologies

Changes to This Statement

We may update this Accessibility Statement as we improve our website, adopt new standards, or respond to regulatory changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
